After years of reaserch and development, the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP), due to its exceptional mechanical properties, became the basic material used for manufacturing jet fuselage. Embedding optical fibers into CFRP, allows one to use them as sensors. NEUBRESCOPE(TM) can employ embedded fibers for quality control during manufacturing process, as well as detecting changes in strain distribution before/after the flight.
